A Little Bit About Patrick

My passion for travel really started with a round the world trip I took before going on to higher education. After graduating with a degree in commercial music, I decided to fuel my ever increasing wanderlust (and ever decreasing bank account) with a job in the travel industry. 5 years as an agent later, while neither wanderlust nor bank account were satiated, I did manage find an industry I loved being a part of. Oh and I also managed to get myself to every continent minus Antarctica! Having sold Dragoman trips in my previous role, I was already a big fan of the company. As soon as a role came up that I was interested in here I jumped at the chance and re-located to Suffolk.

- What is your favourite destination?

Tough question... Probably Laos... or Bolivia!? It's like asking a parent to chose their favourite child. All are different but I love them all!

- What has been the most surprising destination you've been to?

India. For me this was just a stop on my round the world to see the Taj Mahal. I booked a three week trip and loved every minute in this amazing country. One of my favourites for so many reasons.

- What has been your favourite or most memorable occasion whilst travelling?

Possibly when I did a sky-dive and bungee jump on the same day in New Zealand - love an adrenaline rush! Or maybe swimming in Cambodia with bioluminescent plankton. Surreal and beautiful.

- Where is the next destination on your list?

The Silk route! Not 100% on which part exactly, but I've been determined to do this for a while. Currently I'm thinking Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

- What is your one piece of advice for future overlanders?

Just go with it and don't be afraid to push your limits a bit. Often the best experiences are the ones you didn't expect to have or would have otherwise avoided.
