Growing up on a fruit farm in Canterbury, Rosanna has always had a love for nature and the outdoors. Managing to travel quite a bit from a young age, even taking her first steps in New Zealand, Rosanna has managed to explore a lot of South East Asia and Southern Africa.
Usually on her adventures with a tent and a backpack, Rosanna is now excited to be seeing the world with an upgrade....the Big Orange Truck!
- What did you do for a living before becoming crew?
I have had a few jobs including roles in bars, events catering and so on but for the past two years I worked for STA. My first job in the travel industry, here I booked on my first Dragoman trip and from then I knew I wanted to work for the company and travel around in these big orange trucks!
- Why did you become Dragoman crew?
After training to sell Dragoman at STA, I really got to know what the company was all about... in the end I sold the company to myself! I got on a trip as soon as I could and knew this would be my dream job!
- What's your favourite destination?
This is a very tricky one, there are so many places that I love! However I would say that everywhere I have been in Africa has been amazing, the people and wildlife really stand out. I am lucky enough to be spending my first contract on the road in this beautiful continent and I am sure my memories of this place will grow even fonder.
- What has been your favourite or most memorable occasion on the road?
As a passenger on my Drago trip me and my sister were sat on the roof seats when she saw a herd of elephants for the first time and she cried tears of joy, beautiful! A memory I will never forget and I'm sure she won't either!
- What's the most essential item in your backpack?
My little sewing kit, this always comes in handy for fixing, bodging, or simply if you need a pin...or even making bunting!
- What is your one piece of advice to future overlanders/passengers?
When things don’t go to plan, this is often when the best memories are made, embrace the unexpected and immerse yourself in the trip and local culture!
