Phare, the Cambodian Circus, is a social enterprise in Cambodia which opened in February 2013 in Siem Reap. It runs professional shows every night all year round, using dance, theater, original live music and circus arts to tell uniquely Cambodian stories from recent history, folklore and modern society.
75% of the profits from tickets sales go directly to Phare Ponleu Selpak (PPSA), an NGO school and professional arts training center in Battambang, which offers free-of-charge formal K-12 education and professional arts training in visual arts, theater, music, dance, and circus to street children. More than 1,200 pupils attend the public school daily and 500 attend the vocational arts training programs.
We include a trip to Phare, the Cambodian Circus when in Siem Reap.
