In 1981 Dragoman was formed and we ran our first tour through the Middle East and North Africa with 24 passengers aboard our first ever custom built overland truck. In 1984 we ventured into Asia and pioneered overland routes across the Silk Road and the Indian subcontinent. In 1989 we launched operations in South America and by 1994, now with 13 trucks, we expanded into Central America. In 2013 we entered North America and ran tours from Alaska all the way down to Patagonia.

Finally, in 2019 with a fleet of nearly 30 trucks we took 4200 travellers on life changing adventures to over 55 countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas. After 4 decades on the road covid hit and Dragoman went into hibernation. During this time the original Dragoman founders decided to hand over the reins to a company with a similar ethos to their own and Dragoman was taken over by Madventure Ltd, an owner-operated adventure travel company run by Karen Brown and William Thomson, keen adventurers who are committed to keep Dragoman’s wheels turning by offering affordable overland adventures and small group tours to off the beaten track destinations around the globe.

43 years after Dragoman’s first tour, we are back in 2024 with a new range of epic overland expeditions and small group adventure tours to Africa, South America, Asia, Iceland, the Far East and the Middle East. This is not your everyday journey!
